Shopify and Buffer have similar work environments, with the difference that Shopify is in office and Buffer is remote, but they both utilize chat services extensively

to track how their employees are doing.

Shopify has a program called footsteps, and the more someone has colleagues talk to them, this is recorded and said employees are given benefits based on how much they are spoken to on the chat.
